Logical???
Logical…what on earth do you mean by logical home buying???
Simple. You’ve seen the result of getting a home at any price. The ordinary-traditional (emotional) model of sell, sell, sell real estate…and the lending world built up to sustain that model, are exactly why the housing markets plunged us into the worst economy since the Great Depression.
Logic has been–for most people–missing from the process of buying a home. Just ask Mr. Spock…
That said, logical home buying does not mean that you can’t have the home you want. Not at all!
It simply means that the agents who are going to help you buy, are going to have legal, ethical and moral obligations to do their best to make sure you don’t overpay for a home–the concept is called exclusive buyer agency–or, if you’re bound and determined to get a home regardless of the consequences to your personal economy…to make sure you know that you’re overpaying before you create any final obligation.
You get to concentrate on establishing an emotional connection to the homes you’re viewing, without worrying about us using that against you. We’re not real estate salespeople. Our job is to save you time, money and effort, in your pursuit of a home. And, more importantly…if we feel there are likely resale problems with any home you’re considering–even if you think it is the perfect home–our duties of loyalty and full disclosure, to you, obligate us to share that information with you, and advise you accordingly.
Yet, while it’s our job to make sure you’re fully informed and as protected as we can possibly make you…you’re still the boss, and you make the final decision on what home you’re going to pursue, and how much you’re willing to pay.
That’s only logical…
